In addition, they will be enjoying family time, having picnics, and playing games. But, best of all, they will be getting rewarded for their hard work with ribbons and trophies, and PILES of FUN!

Mission Statement:

Corning Manta Rays Swim Team provides a fun and safe environment for athletes to grow socially and physically. We seek to develop swimmers' strength, endurance, and technique. Under the guidance of our coaches, swimmers will work toward meeting short term goals and paving the way to lifelong fitness. We are committed to providing our community with a comprehensive competitive swim program.

Program Description:

Corning Manta Rays Swim Team is a Competitive Program. This is what most people know as swim team. Ages 4-18 are accepted. Practices are designed for skill development and aerobic conditioning for the sole purpose of competing at swim meets. Practice groups are designed to group athletes with similar skills and progressions to allow them to reach their goals.Attendance at swim meets is essential, as this is the only way the staff can assess how effective the daily practices are in both design and content. Each participant is registered as an athlete with USA Swimming, Inc., which is the national governing body of our sport. Anyone not registered with USA Swimming is not allowed to participate in meets or participate in our competitive program.

Swim meets are organized into two groups – dual meets and invitationals/age group opens. Dual meets are usually held on Wednesday evenings, either in Corning or hosted by another local team. Invitationals/age group opens are held on weekends and are hosted by local teams. These weekend swim meets require separate entry fees to participate. Each family is responsible for additional registration and payment for their own swimmers.

North Valley Aquatic League (NVAL) Championships is our last meet of the season. To participate at NVAL Championships you must have competed during the current summer season in at least one weekend invitational and one Wednesday night dual.
