Rules, Expectations and Discipline
Practices, Rules and Expectations:
We expect each child be at practice regularly and on time. For practice your child will need a swim suit, towel, cap and goggles, sunblock (applied before practice starts) and a water bottle. They do not have to wear their team cap to practices, nor do they need to wear a black or red suit to practice. For girls, one piece suits are recommended. Boys can wear jammers or speedos, long board shorts are not recommended because of the increased drag and do not help them prepare for competition. Reminder: No swimmer phones or electronic devices allowed on deck!
Parents are not allowed on deck during practices. You are welcome to watch practice from outside the fenced area in the park. We thank you for understanding and respecting this rule. Please feel free to talk with coaches before or after practice.
Discipline:
Swimmers will be given a warning for misbehavior. Then, they will be asked to get out of the pool. For safety reasons this will be strongly enforced! Swim team is a fun environment, but it’s also a place to learn and be respectful to others and coaches. If misconduct continues and a swimmer isn’t willing to follow the rules, they may be dismissed from the team, and no refunds will be given.
